Peephole

An artwork has been installed in Appingedam, just behind the famous "hanging kitchens." This installation transforms a small space between two buildings into a mini-museum, showcasing historical photographs of the area.

The exterior design playfully invites curious tourists to take a closer look. A key challenge of the design was striking a balance between capturing the attention of passersby and blending seamlessly with the existing surroundings.

Two peeping holes with steps provide access for people of all ages and heights to view the interior.

Wooden details refer to decorative store facades, an example of this as can be seen on the right side of the image.

Brass handholds will show signs of usage after a while, accenting the design.
